Advent 2023

From Seed to Savior: An Advent Journey Through the Jesse Tree

The season of Advent refers to the four weeks leading up to Christmas. It is a time of preparation and anticipation as we await and celebrate the advent of two things: the remembrance of Jesus entering the world as a baby at Christmas, as well as the advent to come, or the Second Coming of Christ.

With this in mind, we designed this Advent Bible study guide to walk you through a new tradition — The Jesse Tree — the stories of the Bible that connect the lineage and narrative leading to the birth of the Savior. With the hope that it will help us focus on the miracle of Jesus Christ and the connection that each of us has to His love.

Printed in beautiful full color, we intentionally designed and reformatted this year's Advent guide to include original art painted exclusively for Multiply Goodness by Barbara Young. Each painting reflects the Bible story that you and your loved ones will read each day. We are also happy to give you each painting, printed on high-quality card stock in the back of the guide, to use as ornaments, symbols, tags, and more to bring the Bible stories of the birth of Jesus to life in your own home. Flip through the shop images to see different ideas!

It is our hope that as you learn about the themes of Advent and the Jesse Tree, you will develop a deeper relationship with the Savior and your own family lineage during this long-awaited season.

Why should I get a Bible Study guide?

Great question, we’re so happy you asked.

  • Have you ever picked up the Bible (the Old and New Testaments), and thought to yourself, “Where do I even start?” Us, too. It can be overwhelming to open up the pages and dive in on your own.

  • Or maybe, you want to move beyond reading and start doing more studying, but you don’t know what questions to ask yourself to get to the next level of understanding.

  • Have you ever wanted to read the Bible alongside other women and have deeper, meaningful, spiritual conversations, but don’t know how to do it?

That’s where we come in. We’ve created our Bible Study guides to help you with each of those things. We want you to feel confident in opening your Scriptures every day. We want you to have the tools you need to really study what the Lord is saying in the pages of the Bible. We also want you to have something easy that you, your friends, and neighbors can study together, so that your relationships might grow even deeper and more meaningful. A team of women from multiple faith traditions wrote the study together with interfaith relationships in mind, so you can feel confident that sensitive topics found in the pages of the Bible are addressed with tender care.

Within our study guides you’ll find:
Space to write and take notes, tips and tools for small group study,
as well as sections designed to help you write your own story of faith,
and see how God’s Word has been instrumental in your own life.

There are several ways to participate in the study and different levels of commitment, so you can tailor your study to YOU. The options for jumping into our Fall study and reading God’s Word alongside us are endless, and there’s no right or wrong way to participate! You do whatever is comfortable for you.

Whether you’re studying the Bible on your own or participating in a small group, we pray our Known By God study will deepen your love for the Savior.
